This is a positive thing....you can find out wich/what/who is where:) > stick with Debian because it's what I am most familar with. > > Any ideas? > > Adam. Yup; http://www.geocities.com/rlcomp_1999/f10.html#RESTORE I'm linking you to a page you want to read only once; be thoughtfull in where you place LILO!! In short; - What you must know: http://www.geocities.com/rlcomp_1999/linux.html - You must know where your hardware resides. BaseMemory(?)Adress and IRQ. - When you get the raidcontroller seen by the kernel(probably in a way like the below); verify wich partition is the CompraQsystempartition!!(don't install Lilo there!) - On boot you must specify the location of the raidarray and the onboard scsi controller to the kernel; i.e.#linux smart2=0x6000 sim710=addr:0x8000,irq:15 - In Lilo; you must specify the above after the append line.i.e: append="smart2=0x6000 sim710=addr:0x8000,irq:15 mem=128M" If you would like to know more, pretty sure this is enough, please specify the hardware for I had a hard time finding it on compaqs site:) Thanks, Frans
