I use a repeat type of 'raw' which means that gpm just copies its input out on gpmdata. As long as gpm and X use the same protocol (IMPS2 in my case, though gpm and X spell it differently) it works just fine (X listens on gmpdata -- only one app can read the psaux port reliably at a time). HTH, -D
