Hello I am trying to install the current stable version of Debian thru the network. I have a Netgear FA311 NIC. So while I am adding modules to the kernel, I add the netsami module(National Semiconductors). Now when I try to go online to download other packages, I can not do this.
I have a verizon dsl, and have a home network of 4 pcs. My router is 2wire. While configuring my network, I give the IP as 172.16.0.10, netmask as 255.255.255.0, DNS as 172.16.0.1(same as router), name server again as 172.16.0.1. Why am I not able to get anything. It keeps trying to connect to a server then errors out by saying "Something wicked has happened" Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong. Incidently my other windows machines work fine.
