Much clearer now. I knew about the bin86 dependency, so I installed it as a matter of course. Just curious after a long day of rebuilding my laptop. OT: Note to buyers of a second hand laptop: buy a new HD to go with it. The old one might be near the end of it's lifetime, I just had to partition off 2G because of bad blocks.
