Binary Data can be stored in Binary Table Fields: CHAR BINARY, VARCHAR BINARY, TINYBLOB, BLOB, MEDIUMBLOB, LONGBLOB. You should think about this twice, however, because with MySQL storing your binary data in the filesystem and only references to that data in the database can be more efficient.
