You need to specify the kernel as well as the parameter. Something along the lines of: linux floppy=thinkpad instead of just floppy=thinkpad should do the trick. Also, give it a shot without the "floppy=thinkpad" bit. Some of the thinkpads need that parameter and others don't. Gary
