hi, how can you {add, multiply, negate, divide} two scalars in TeX/LaTeX? in a new command that i am writing (it places a \picture), i want to use one of the two arguments (width) and \linewidth or \textwidth to calculate the remaining horizontal space i have (for another picture).
i know i can convert a #1 argument of a command into a \length with \newlength\setlength, but how can i mathematically combine multiple \lengths? i know it's possible, though maybe not on the LaTeX level. any clues? martin; (greetings from the heart of the sun.) \____ echo mailto: !#^."<*>"|tr "<*> mailto:" [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- please keep your hands off the secretary's reproducing equipment.
