Dear list. Just this morning after booting my laptop (Potato, 2.2.17, Ximian Gnome 1.4), I end up with a plain console login prompt. No more fancy gdm. There do not seem to be strange error messages in the boot process, the last line is: Starting GNOME display manager: gdm Also, I do not recall having made any strange changes in my last session. Any clues what might cause this?
