I am having problems configuring my ISP connection with ppp. After
I use drivers specific for my modem, which install according to the README that comes with the driver-downloadable from the manufacturers website.
If yours is driven the same way, make sure you specify /dev/modem as the modem com port in pppconfig.
$ls -l /dev/modem
should then give a symlink to the actual device.
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Feb 27 18:05 /dev/modem -> /dev/536ep
