I have i810 video, and just upgraded to XFree86 4.0.3 (xserver-xfree86
4.0.3-4) but it's not working.
1) startx fails, with these messages:
Symbol VBEInit from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/i810_drv.o is
unresolved!
Symbol vbeDoEDID from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/i810_drv.o is
unresolved!
Those modules came with xserver-xfree86. I see all the servers in
that directory require those two symbols. Where are they supposed to
be defined? e.g. they are not defined anywhere in the Linux kernel
sources.
2) I was asked several configuration questions when I installed
xserver-xfree86. However, the configuration file
/etc/X11/XF86Config was not changed from before. I could not find
where the answers to my questions went.
Is this a package bug, an upstream bug, or just misconfiguration here?
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
