it looks promising -- geared to openbsd, but promising
nonetheless...

they refer to "smrsh" which they say is related to (comes with)
the sendmail distribution:

        # apt-cache search "smrsh"
        # dpkg -S sendmail | sort
        emacs20: /usr/share/emacs/20.7/lisp/mail/sendmail.elc
        exim: /usr/lib/sendmail
        exim: /usr/sbin/sendmail
        exim: /usr/share/man/man8/sendmail.8.gz
        jed-common: /usr/share/jed/lib/sendmail.slc
        mailtools: /usr/lib/perl5/Mail/Mailer/sendmail.pm
        webmin-status: /usr/share/webmin/status/sendmail-monitor.pl
        webmin-status: /usr/share/webmin/status/services/sendmail.serv
        # dpkg -l exim
        Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold

        ii  exim           3.12-10        Exim Mailer
        # lynx http://packages.debian.org/smrsh
        ...No responses to your query...

i'm on potato -- is there a debian-happy way to get smrsh?
