I'm assuming that your cd-rom is a cd burner. What's your fstab entry? Mine points to /dev/scd0. Note that to mount a cd burner under scsi emulation you use /dev/scd0. To burn you use "sr0". /dev/scd0 /cdrom iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noauto 0 0
