I am getting an error when trying to print in a sid system, with
lpr as the print spooler. I get an error
under netscape 4.77:
temp file write error
in an xterm:
bash-2.05$ lpr -Plp wordcount
lpr: wordcount: temp file write error
lpr: wordcount: empty input file
bash-2.05$
I can print as root.
I am using magicfilter. Newly created spool files don't have locks in them or,
really, any of the usual setup files.
dir /var/spool/lpd/
bash-2.05$ dir -la /var/spool/lpd/hplj4l
total 2
drwxrwsr-x 2 root lp 1024 Jun 1 00:28 .
drwxrwsr-x 8 lp lp 1024 Jun 1 00:18 ..
-rw-rw---x 1 root lp 0 Jun 1 00:28 .seq
bash-2.05$
I can print ok as root.
Can someone suggest which files, if any, I can change permissions on?
