It's very easy, just add an unstable (for sid, or testing for woody) deb-src line as already mentioned in this thread and do apt-get -b source ssh Get a cup of coffee and it will be done; install the .deb file it creates. You may need one or two library packages; if they're not in stable either, you can install them the same way.
