It really depends on zlib1g.  If you used apt to install it, apt would
automagically install all the files it depends on.

BTW:  you should ASAP install apt (if it isn't present), add

deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free

to your /etc/apt/sources.list, and run "apt-get update" and "apt-get
upgrade".  There have been quite a few security fixes since 2.2r0 was
released.
