Is that really a problem?

(The laser tracks the actual position of the track (as opposed to its nominal or
unstretched position), and the servo mechanism has to handle
a degree of eccentricity that's probably a more than the track pitch.)

P.S. Has anyone ever added shims to make a CD tilt in the drive and seen
the laser lens popping up and down in sync with the wobbling CD?
