Hi all,
First time this has happened in some time, but after a fairly minor
apt-get dist-upgrade, X no longer seems to want to work. I have attached
the full output of the command (I don't know whether it is relevant), but
the tail end of it is as follows:
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/, removing
from list!
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".

.... I did notice when I looked at the error output that the kernel is
being reported as 2.2.18 ... I'm running 2.2.17! I guess that could cause
problems, eh? Not sure why this discrepancy exists.
