I thought the ipmasq package has it's own black magic and the HOWTO is not 
useful here. I was wrong. I looked into it and found the information I needed.
I forgot to edit /etc/resolv.conf on the box I want to provide internet 
access for.
For all people who do that in the future:
I put the line:
nameserver <my isp's dns>
in that file, just like it's in the same file on the box that does the 
masquerading.
Now it works. It was so easy! Sometimes Debian is great.
