I am experiencing similar problems as well: I am running 2.4.3 and applied your hint below, too.
But still the problem exists for -- I assume -- Network Traffic: I make use of two 3c59x. When I create a lot of network traffic without writing to the discs -- therefore my assumption -- some driver write onto the console: Flags; bus-master 1, dirty NNNNNNNNNN(M) OOOOOOOOOOO(P) Every sixteen Transmission. (where Ns, M, Os, and P are some figures). This occurs only when carrying out bulk transfers -- I am running NPtcp to test this issue. Probably, someone knows how to dissable something for the network card driver -- or for some other stuff the error can be created by -- such that the error disappears. Thanks in advance!
