A few days ago, following the advice of someone here on this list, it
was mentioned that "apt-get upgrade" shouldn't be used, but "apt-get
dist-upgrade" should be instead. Well, I decided to try it... and now
regret it...

Following the dist-upgrade, I'm getting the quite common error

"Fatal server error:
Could not find default font 'fixed'"

The packages that were upgraded are listed below. Oddly, none of them
are really xfree86 packages... I've tried commenting out my "FontPath
unix/:7100" line, disabled "xfs", etc. Here's my stupid question: Is there
really a font named "fixed" ?? ;-) 'cause if so, I don't have one, and hence my
obvious problem. I did look in the xfonts-base package and there isn't one in
it...

Thanks in advance
Hall Stevenson
