yes using that go-gnome script is the most irresponisble thing to do
security wise.

there is an apt line.  

but i recommend you don't use ximian gnome, the packages are of low
quality and its really rather broken.  i just the other day wanted to
compile galeon which i did, but it segfaulted all over the place, so
on a plain potato system i compiled just the requisite gnome libraries
from sid, and built galeon and it works rock solid stable.  on the
other box i have completely purged every trace of ximian/helix gnome
and replaced it with debian gnome plus my self compiled sid upgrades
(about a dozen or so packages) and things are working much MUCH better
now.
