I'm trying to install Debian potato on my laptop. I've got the generic i386 disks (rescue.bin and root.bin + the drivers1-4, etc).
My laptop (a sony vaio picturebook) has a USB floppy drive and no cdrom. So I generally do net installs of RedHat on it. The floppy works great to boot the first disk, but it can't seem to find the second disk (I assume the reason I never ran into this with redhat, is that redhat only needs 1 disk for a net install, whereas debian needs 6 or whatever). Is there a version of the boot disks that will use usb floppies, or am I just plain out of luck? jack.
