Boot parameters

I want a script to be executed once at boot time, (i.e to do 
/sbin/hdparm setting).

Where would this go? If I use a command like update-rc.d foo.sh default 
19, then it would be executed at all init levels and at all changes of 
init levels. Seems excessive to me.
