Just a possibility - it can solve truncation, but I didn't think it got that bad... Try putting into /etc/modutils/local options sound dmabuf=1 and running update-modules. The buffer needs to be allocated to < 16MB so getting it modprobed early ensures that. This problem might arise with a new mobo/more memory.
