Hi, I have a soundblaster 64PCI, with a es1371 chipset. I compiled sound card support and the es1371 driver as modules. This is the output of lsmod:
OOCHnet:/tmp# lsmod Module Size Used by sound 58316 0 (unused) es1371 28116 1 soundcore 3012 7 [sound es1371] I believe the card is correctly recognizes considering the output of dmesg: es1371: version v0.22 time 16:27:50 Mar 25 2001 es1371: found chip, vendor id 0x1274 device id 0x1371 revision 0x06 es1371: found es1371 rev 6 at io 0xe400 irq 10 es1371: features: joystick 0x0 es1371: codec vendor TRA (0x545241) revision 35 (0x23) es1371: codec features none es1371: stereo enhancement: no 3D stereo enhancement This is a summary of lspci and cat /proc/pci: 00:09.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq ES1371 [AudioPCI-97] (rev 06) Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq ES1371 (rev 6). In my modules.conf I have a line alias char-major-14 es1371 Yet still $cat bubble.au > /dev/audio does not work. And neither does any sound-program play any sound. Any suggestions?
