Do you specify the mount type correctly? Here's an nfs mount from my /etc/fstab: magneto:/usr/local/mp3s /usr/local/mp3s nfs ro,user 0 0 And I assume that the solaris box has its nfs set up correctly. Have you checked it from other machines?
