to add to this. I'm also using the ati driver on X4.02, unstable. AA doesnt work on this comp either however i think that has something to do with the fact that X cant find the RENDER extension. i get the warning Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0" when i open a QT app. William
