First thing to ask yourself is, "Why do I need APIC?" If the answer is only, "Just because," then your solution is to deselect the APIC option in your kernel compilation. If your answer was, "Because I need it for...", the next thing to do is read the Linux Kernel guides on http://www.linuxdoc.org and some of the documentation in your kernel source tree on how to report bugs to the Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML). -- ^chewie
