Thanks...althought it seems that I was using the wrong driver for the network card (I was trying 3c95x, and found a 3c90x driver). Of course I can't get my machine to talk to the DHCP server yet, but I'm woring on it. I got ppa to work by recompiling the kernel. Pete --
