modprobe: error

Hello all,   I am getting an error whenever I boot up into debian 2.2 The specific error is :           modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module net-pf-1   I did not load a network adapter driver when I loaded the system and I think  that might have something to do with the problem but I am not sure. The error repeats itself constantly throughout the boot up process and even as I attempt to login.   any one have any ideas? Thanks Michael Blood
