I'm lost without linux.3dfx.com

Hey,   I just got done formatiing/re-installing my computer (various reasons, none important), and I was starting to set up my 3dfx card, but I can't remember how to do the device file, and I can't find it in the 2.4 kernel docs.  I remember it was in a subdirectory, and the file was called card0 (i think), but I don't know device numbers etc.  Please supply me all needed info   Thanks, Cameron matheson
