Yes (for chmod +x ~/.xsession). I believe your correct about kdm, GDM may or may not use it depending on whether you choose GNOME session or Debian or Xsession. In most other [normal?] cases, it should be sourced. -- Eric G. Miller <egm2@jps.net>
