Thanks to everyone for the ongoing responses to my newbie dreck. Why, when I MKBOOT VMLINUZ-2.2.12, would the system come back to me on three different BRAND NEW disks with a "write protected or other error"?
I really doubt it's the disks. Is there a known problem with that version?
