Thanks for reply, but to be honest I do not understand what you mean by Linux's own software? Tbhis card has four IDE channels and when I boot I do not see any of those, so how could I use it without proper driver? I have driver form RedHat biuld for kernel 2.4.18-3 (do not know what is -3), when I am trying to do depmod -e there are no unresolved symbols (I have 2.4.18 kernel on my Debian box). Maybe there are some ways to try to install this driver? How to do that, taking into accont that modconf says "there is kernel-module version mismatch"? Are there any tricky ways to deceive kernel (or module)?
