well, not that linux CAN'T lock up, not that gpm CAN'T freeze your X system, not that a poorly-coded compile CAN'T reset everything -- but it's rare when you have to restart your linux system, especially without proceeding normally through the shutdown process. on windo~1 and mac, lockups and wheel-spinning-going-nowhere happen OFTEN. i'll change it, but i still think 'fits-and-starts' doesn't apply to linux, not like it does on mac or windo~1... -- See, if you were allowed to keep the money, you wouldn't create jobs with it.
