OK I have used apt-get install mysql-server, and it has installed it. It came back with an error saying :-
starting Mysql database server: mysqld failed. My book says config files are in /usr/local by default, but this does not appear to be the case with Debian. I probably need to configure something somewhere but have no resources specifically for Debian. All help to get the beast running welcomed. Thanks James.
