Oracle works fine on Potato!!! but you can turn it running on Woody by 2 ways: A. (tested) On a mixed potato-woody box, it will work! you should install following package releases on Woodyh libg++2.8.2-glibc2.1 libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1 libc6 2.1.3-13 It's a hard work because you will have to recompile a lot of packages against these libc6 and glibc relieases (gnome-core, sendmail, apache, etc........) B. (untested) Red Hat 7.0 had similar problems with Oracle 8.1.6 due to libc6. VA Linux have post a solution for linked libc6 calls that Oracle attempts to pass throught. Just try to adapt this solution to the woody environment ! http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18391 http://ftp.valinux.com/pub/support/hjl/glibc/sdk/2.1/README http://ftp.valinux.com/pub/support/hjl/glibc/sdk/2.1/README.Oracle8i http://ftp.valinux.com/pub/support/hjl/glibc/sdk/2.1/i386-glibc-2.1-linux.tar.gz have luck! -- Jaume Teixi Administrador de Sistemes 6TEMS - Ducform, SA http://www.6tems.com
