Hi, I have the folowing, quite urgent problem. Our ISP of our students dormitory changes to the end of this month (this is: on Thuesday) and I was just lucky to get this morning the information, that this will lead to a DHCP network. Hmm ... I'm even more luck, since originaly they wanted to change to DHCP _today_ ... so I can still use the network for a few days, among others to get DHCP installed here.
And thats the problem I have: I have no experience with that, I never played around with it and now I should get it working till Thuesday :-) Has somebody experience with this, perhaps even on an Debian 2.2 or Debian Unstable/Woody system (I use the later, but they shouldn't be that too different). I guess it shouldn't be that difficult, but are there some hidden problesm, some tricks or usefull information which could prevent a few days of headache. Which packages do I need beside dhcp, dhcp-client? Or do I even need them? Thanks for any help... Martin -- Linux - the last service pack you'll ever need.
