I'm making slow progress setting up a Debian system on an M800LMR motherboard with onboard sound. The mobo documentation identifies the Linux driver module as cmpci. This loads happily and finds sound hardware, but can't write to it - as seen in this output from dmesg:

Can anyone confirm that this is the problem, explain what to do or otherwise help me? I also have an internal Genius GM56PCI-L modem, which came with no info on Linux drivers at all. I've emailed the manufacturers but as yet had no reply. Can anyone identify the correct module and point me in the right direction for setting it up? Many thanks John -- John M Drake, Edinburgh.
