I did as you told me, but it doesn't work. 
The user's line also doesn't have the XXXXX... part, but just any other types.
Do I have to delete the user and recreate him to get him work with an empty 
password?

Edit /etc/samba/smbpasswd and change the user's line from

to
bob:3000:NO
