Long shot: are you _absolutely_ sure you use 32bpp? I've had the ``grainy experience'' too, and all was well when I set: DefaultColorDepth 32 in my /etc/X11/XF86Config. It turned out I had used 8bpp before. If this doesn't help I don't know, sorry. it works very well here. Regards Morten -- UNIX, reach out and grep someone!
