I will now delete my Debian installation and make a new one from scratch, taking into consideration the advices I got so far.....:o) Greetings, Helgi Örn PS: Caldera is OK & SuSE is great when you've spent a few weeks tweeking it and cleaning up the mess, but they're not Debian!
