Assuming you mean Wine or Winex (Windows emulators), there's a better approach: just download the native Linux binaries from <http://www.lokigames.com/products/ut/> It runs very well if you have an nVidia video card with the official nVidia Linux drivers, and should also perform well on any hardware that has a decent OpenGL implementation (that is to say not Mesa).
