Following Alvin Oga's advice, I got a completely different box and still have the same problem with the RealTek-based cards. I even compiled a new kernel from the 2.4.19 source and installed it but I keep getting the same message: netdev watchdog eth0 transmit timed out On my existing server, the same card has been running without any problem since late 2000. The kernel is 2.2.20. Any hints to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
