I just downloaded he 5.9b source from the ALSA site for my SBLive! I compiled it (./configure; make install), and everything seems to be working fine. I did a modprobe snd-card-emu10k1, and then needed to do modprobe snd-pcm-oss to get the oss emulation up and running. It was relatively painless. I have not updated the /etc/modules file yet, but will do that later and make sure everything comes up on reboot.
