Hey Guys and Gals,
DGhost here.
Thanks for replying so far.
It was asked if lpd was running and it is:
Is it normal to have a child process of lpd when usig the -l switch?

root 11493 1 0 10:34 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/lpd -l
root 11494 11493 0 10:34 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/lpd -l

Also, what is a good way to test the printer without using cat?
>cat file.txt | lpr

I can cat a file to the printer via root:

cat text.txt | lpr

and sometimes it works... and sometimes I just get a lock file in my spool
directory!

If anyone could tell me where the lpd -l dumps the log, that may help me.

Thank you!

Debian Ghost
