Basically it comes down to this: 1) make a pnpdump, edit the /etc/isapnp.conf and run $isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf 2) compile a kernel with the SB drivers build in as modules 3) reboot with the new kernel 4) insert the modules with modprobe -a (they are sound and sb) with the sb having parameters like irq's, dma's and io's from your isapnp.conf

I don't have much experience with it. The above will work for plain sound support.
