Here's something else I noticed: When the system boots, right before the first installation program dialog comes up, a number of repeated messages flash by on the screen, saying (approximately--they flashed by): ... modprobe: can't open dependency file /lib/modules/2.2.17/modules.dep Also, I noticed a message on the fourth virtual console (I had booted with "linux verbose debug"): kmod: runaway modprobe loop assumed and stopped I tried running modprobe from the command line, and got the same error message (one). Are those messages normal? -- Daniel Barclay [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Hmm. A little worrisome: http://www.junkbusters.com/cgi-bin/privacy http://www.anonymizer.com/snoop.cgi )
