Mike: Yes, I am setting up a variety of machines where I need to do things like change the default screen resolution for X. I need to be able to try XF86Config without re-booting the entire machine. I am using Gnome in multi-user mode. Hopefully, I will be able to close Gnome, re-open and check new settings....
