I strongly suspect either the latter, or HW issues with your monitor. I've noticed that at various H and V sync settings, I'll get some mild pincushioning or hourglassing of my monitor, try xvidtune (without saving results -- unless you like them). Try also dragging your xterms to various locations onscreen. All rectangles should be drawn the same way. I suspect drugs <g> or optical illusions. -- Karsten M.
